Questions players argue about, answered with the ranked data OTPStats already collects. Each study shows the numbers, how they were measured, and what they can't tell you.

Every result comes from official Riot match data across all six regions and every rank. We publish sample sizes and confidence intervals with every chart, and each figure has a table view.

How the studies work

Data. The OTPStats collector pulls competitive match details from the official Riot Games API for NA, EU, AP, KR, BR and LATAM. Studies that need non-competitive games (like the warm-up study) pull player match histories directly, which cover roughly the last 60 days of every queue.

Uncertainty is always shown. Whiskers on charts are 95% confidence intervals; a difference whose intervals overlap heavily is not a finding.
Correlation is not causation. Players choose their own warm-ups, shields and rifles. Where we can, we compare the same player with themselves or control for rank, side and economy; the caveats section of each study says what is still confounded.
No individual data is published. Only aggregates leave the collector; nothing on these pages identifies a player.
